CENTURY ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

“Building Pride in Every Way”
Dear Century Parents:
I hope all of you had a relaxing summer and
are looking forward to school starting on Monday, August 20th. For your convenience, some important
information is included in this letter.
Both Century and Clovis Unified’s theme this year is “Better Together.” Our world is changing, and students need effective communication skills and excellent cooperative strategies in order to become successful. Our theme is a strong reminder that every person on campus must be a contributor and that we should combine our diverse skills and abilities in order to maximize achievement and “Build Pride in Every Way.” Century’s beach vintage style adaptation to the theme is a subtle reminder that we need to have fun, put our tiger paws in the sand, ride the waves wherever they take us, and enjoy our educational journey as a team. Century Tigers truly are Better Together.

year we will need to do signups for each season separately. Last year there were some technical errors
trying to sign up for the entire year. Students cannot attend practice
until the online permission slip and the online information updates are
complete. Our 2018-2019 Athletic schedule is posted on our website.
Clovis Unified School District’s Dress Code will be in effect with the first day of school. I know that many families are shopping for new school clothes, so here are a couple of things to remember: 1) shorts/skirts/dresses are to be no shorter than 5 inches above the top of the knee and not higher than mid-thigh, 2) shorts are to be hemmed (no cut-offs or frayed edges), 3) shoulder straps must be 2 inches wide, 4) footwear must have a fastened strap behind the heel, and 5) only Buchanan Area hats will be allowed to be worn by Buchanan Area students. If you are new to the school district or otherwise have questions about the dress code, please review the dress code policy in our Century Student/Parent Handbook which is located on the website.
NEW APP and WEBSITE: Century will not use the remind app this
year. Instead, CUSD has developed an app
that works with our website to give you the most up to date information,
calendar, and reminder system. More
information will be sent home soon
PARENT HANDBOOK: Our new parent handbook will be online when
school starts. There are a few
changes. Keep up with the rules and
policies of the school by reading the Tiger Bulletin each week.
We’re going to have a great year,
